Our focus is real, ongoing support.
The emotional toll taken on law enforcement families is real and, if not recognized, can do permanent damage. The founders of The Blue Bow Foundation are first responders themselves and can vouch for the strain public service places on marriages, families, and one's own emotional health.
We believe that providing an outlet for officers and their families is important--so important that emotional support is the crux of what we do. By hosting family-friendly events and other special occasions, we provide an environment outside of work where officers, their spouses, and their families can build relationships with other like-minded people, showing them they're not alone.
We also partner with Emergency Chaplain Services to provide an understanding, professional ear when one is needed. We want all aspects of our heroes' lives to be balanced, peaceful and prosperous.
In talking to officers from all over the the State of Texas and beyond, we've found that far too many are living paycheck to paycheck. What's worse, many of them have to work extra jobs just to make ends meet.
We want to help alleviate some of the financial stress law enforcement families face. That is why we have partnered with Ramsey Solutions to offer Dave Ramsey's acclaimed "Financial Peace University" course at NO CHARGE to officers and their spouses.
Each year we host at least two 9-week sessions of this amazing course, which teaches the principals of proper budgeting, saving and becoming debt-free.
By helping officers eliminate debt, add savings, and live on a budget, we hope to remove the necessity of so many extra jobs and give them more time with their families.
Whether it's a natural disaster like Hurricane Harvey or an unforeseen emergency that drains our savings, we've all experienced hardship. Police officers are no different. In fact, while they are busy serving and protecting others, officers often overlook or even neglect their own needs.
Since our mission involves providing ongoing support to law enforcement families, we strive to offer regular, needs-based financial assistance as often as we can.
It may be in the form of money, a much-needed replacement of certain equipment items, educational assistance for that elusive degree, or just help in paying a bill. However we can help, we want officers to know we're here for them.
